ChatGPT May Soon Support Being A Default Assistant App On Android

ChatGPT as Assistant app: If we have to work hands-free on an Android phone, then we all turn on Google Assistant. Through this we are able to accomplish many tasks without touching the phone. Google Assistant comes by default in Android phones. Apart from Google, there are many third party apps which provide us hands free facility. Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana also do the same thing. However, now after the advent of AI, large language models are going to help us in this work.

According to a report by Android Authority, Open AI Chat is working on making GPT the default assistant app on Android. That means Chat GPT app will also give you hands free experience. For this you will have to set Chat GPT as your default assistant app. Currently the company is working in this direction and some codes have been spotted by Android Authority. The website has spotted some activity named com.openai.voice.assistant.AssistantActivity.

At present, there is no information available as to when this service will be launched and for which users. It is possible that the company may limit it to only Chat GPT Plus subscribers like other features.

GPTs store will be launched next week

Open AI had said in its DevDay event last year that the company will soon open a GPTs store. For those who don’t know what GPTs store is, actually this store will have different chatbots made of GPT-4 which people will be able to use for their work. For example, if you want information related to cooking, then you will be able to download and use specific cooking related chatbots from this store. As the popularity of the chatbot increases, the company will also share money with the developers. The company had said this in its event. Now the company has said in an email update that this store will open from next week. Developers can create and list their models in this store.
